An additional source of lignans; it promotes normalization of liver function. Schisandrin-F® has expressed hepatoprotective, metabolic, hypochelesterolemic, antitoxic effect, diversified antioxidative effect.
Schisandrin – 25.0 mg, excipients.
Schisandrin-F® is a new plant hepatoprotective agent, which active substance – schisandrin – is a biologically active compound from the group of lignans from Schisandra chinensis. It was found that schisandrin has hepatoprotective, antitoxic effect, and diversified antioxidative effect. Under the effect of schisandrin functions of hepatocytes are restored to various extent in case of liver damages, level liver enzymes is normalized. Mechanism of effect of schisandrin is based on activation of enzymatic system of the liver, which is responsible for xenobiotics metabolism, as well as activity of andioxidative liver enzymes, such as glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase and glutathione-S-transferase, is increased.
This helps intensifying detoxicative processes; liver cells disruption is stopped and the processes of their restoration (regeneration) are accelerated.
Indications for use: chronic hepatitises – steatohepatitises (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), viral hepatitis B and C, toxic liver damages in case of alcohol abuse, in case of drug-induced liver damages, in case of intoxication with compounds of heavy metals.
Adults take 1-2 tablets thrice a day after a meal. Term os use is 3 months. Further the term of use is to be agreed with a doctor.
Individual sensitivity to certain components, pregnancy, lactation, children under 18, acute liver failure, decompensated liver cirrhosis. It should be indicated in case of gastritis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis with care.
