Bacillus coagulans ( Lactobacillus sporogenes) are antibiotic resistant spore-forming bacteria. Probiotics, based on Bacillus coagulans, not only fail to have any suppressive effect on the normal intestinal flora, but also promote its recovery after antibiotics intake or in senior age. The ability to restore ecological intestinal flora balance is connected with the fact that B. coagulans inhibits pathogenic flora: Salmonella typhosa, Salmonella schottmuelleri, Shigella dysenteriae, Shigella paradysenteriae, Clostridium difficile, Streptococcus.
L.sporogenes improves digestion. It produces proteinases, which break up proteins to polypeptides; polypeptidases, which break up polypeptides to amino acids; lipases, which break up triglycerides to fatty acids. Breaking up proteins and lipids into simpler components makes food more digestible, which is of especial benefit for reconvalescents (persons recovering) and senior patients. Bacillus coagulans enhances ß-galactosidase (lactase) and lactate dehydrogenase activity – ferments, converting lactose in lactic acid and responsible for its further metabolism, i.e. improving lactose digestion.
One of the most important benefits of these bacteria is that they do not disturb natural intestinal microbiocenosis, which has been forming for the whole life of a person.
Lactose is a disaccharide, i.e. it is composed of two molecules of simple sugars (monosaccharides) – glucose and galactose. Once getting into digestive tract of a human a carbohydrate under the effect of lactase enzyme is broken up into these smallest structural units (monosaccharides), which are getting into bloodstream through intestinal wall and are used by cells for metabolic processes.
Children form 6 to 14 take 1 sachet twice a day, adults and children since the age of 14 take 1-2 capsules twice a day 40 minutes before meals. Term of use – up to 2 weeks, further the term of use is to be agreed upon with a doctor.
