Birch tar oil has many health benefits, the most important of which are antimicrobial and antiseptic ones. Birch tar oil is often used to treat various inflammatory and purulent processes in the skin. It dries skin a bit and accelerates healing, eliminates itch and burning in the damaged areas, helps stimulating and accelerating regeneration of epidermis, improves blood circulation, eliminates inflammation and pain.
Birch tar oil is effective for treatment of various skin diseases: eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrheic eczema, folliculitis, fungi. For scald and eczema, psoriasis vulgaris apply the tar in a thin layer to affected areas once-twice a day for 5-12 days, term of use in case of fungal dermatitis is up to 3 weeks. In case of dandruff and hair loss, rub birch tar oil in the scalp thrice a week, leave it on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water and wash with shampoo.
