COMPOSITION
Milk thistle fruit, corn silk, Saint-John’s Wort grass, beggar-ticks, mint leaves, mint grass, dogrose fruit, dogrose seeds, straw flower flowers, elecampane root, nettle leaves, nettle grass, chamomile flowers.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES
Milk thistle is known for its ability to stimulate and support liver function and to restore its cells.
Milk thistle fruit have hepatoprotective effect, promote improvement of liver function, and normalize digestion. Milk thistle protects sound hepatocytes and increases their resistance to infections and various intoxications. Milk thistle intensifies gall production and accelerates its excretion, thus normalizing digestive processes and metabolism.
Silymarin (a complex of bioflavonoids) content in milk thistle fruit provides for its ability to protect the liver from damage and penetration of toxic substances, evacuate existing toxins, stimulate production of protein and activate DNA and RNA function.
Such microelements as zinc, selenium, copper, the whole range of fat-soluble vitamins, quercetin, flavonolignans, polyunsaturated acids – approx. 200 components in total – were found in milk thistle.
Saint-John’s-Wort grass improves appetite, stimulates excretory function of various glands, improves ability of tissues to regeneration, increases bile outflow, stimulates gastric secretion, has astringent and haemostatic effect; it has strong spasmolytic effect on unstriated muscles of the bile ducts, intestines, vessels and ureters; this plant has expresses anti-inflammatory, pain-killing, antimicrobial, wound-healing effect.
Corn silk is prescribed for liver diseases (cholecystitis, hepatitis), biliary dyskinesia, edemas due to impaired renal function. Corn silk contains bitter glycosides, fatty and essential oils, vitamins and other precious microelements.
Beggar ticks stimulate bile synthesis and secretion, protect liver. They have anti-inflammatory, disinfecting, blood-purifying, wound-healing, diaphoretic properties. They improve metabolism and digestion.
Mint stimulates digestive glands secretion, stimulates appetite, hampers decay and fermentation processes in the digestive tract, reduces tonus of unstriated muscles, bile and urinary ducts, stimulates bile secretion, has sedative and soft hypotensive effect.
Dogrose reduces blood cholesterol level and dissolves cholesterol plaques. It has antioxidative and choleretic properties. The plant prevents blood clots and urinary stones formation in the urinary tract, relaxes vascular walls, stimulates fibrinolysis, improves liver function.
Straw flower is a part of complex therapy of liver and bile ducts diseases: people take it for hepatitis, biliary dyskinesia, and some other states. Flavonoids and coumarins stimulate bile secretion and increase its outflow. Straw flower is indicated in case of a danger of cholelithiasis, caused by changes in bile composition.
Elecampane has anti-inflammatory properties, it is effective for treatment of gastro-intestinal tract diseases. It relieves spasm, reduces gastric acidity, normalizes its motor and secretory functions.
Nettle intensifies basal metabolism, normalizes lipid metabolism, improves cardiovascular system function, increases hemoglobin level, has choleteric effect.
Chamomile is used for gastritis, colitis and inflammatory diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract, liver, kidney, gallbladder, bile, urinary tracts diseases. Chamomile flowers act as soft anti-inflammatory, softening and enveloping agent. They relieve pain and spasm.

Put 1-2 bags in a pot and add a glass of boiling water, let it infuse for 10-15 minutes. Adults drink as tea thrice a day before meals. To improve the taste add some sugar or honey. Term of use – 3 weeks, repeat after a two weeks’ break if necessary.

Individual sensitivity to certain components, pregnancy and lactation, children under 12.
