BEDSORES are areas of skin and other soft tissues necrosis as a result of durable compression, local blood circulation disturbance and nervous trophism. Durable contact of some skin areas with bed and impossibility to change patient’s position causes compression of some small blood vessels, what results in blood circulation and skin nutrition disturbance. This, in its turn, leads to tissues necrosis, formation of ulcers. Among the reasons, leading to bedsores formation, are skin impurity and epidermis damage by decomposition products of urine and feces. Bedsores are most often formed in the area of the tailbone, buttocks, sitting bones, back of the neck and heels of seriously ill patient, who have to lay for a long period of time without movement.
Due to the stage of the disease bedsores may be accompanied by pain and itch in the affected area. In case of pain and reddening around the ulcer, as well as in case of appearance of unpleasant smell or fluid, secondary bacterial infection can be suspected. In this case it is advisable to consult an experienced specialist.
No Bedsores balm may be recommended in complex therapy to improve regeneration processes in damaged tissues, reduction of hyperemia and skin edema, prevent and eliminate infectious processes in the wound. It activates metabolic processes in skin cells. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and analgesic effect.
Ingredients: vaseline, lanolin, chlorophyll-carotene paste, calendula oily extract, propolis oily extract, dexpanthenol, vitamin E, vitamin A, tea tree essential oil.
Effect and operation of No Bedsores Balm are predetermined by the properties of its active components:
Chlorophyll-carotene paste is a polyvitaminic product, received by extraction from the needles of abies sibirica, pine, and spruce. It contains biologically active substances, stimulating various vital processes. When applied to the skin, it activates metabolic processes in its cells, accelerating wound healing process.
Calendula is used as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing product.
Tea tree oil has strong antiseptic and disinfecting properties, provide analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Propolis is a powerful antibacterial, antiviral and fungicidal agent. It has wound-healing, analgesic, antipruritic, antioxidant effect; it promotes vascular spasm relief, metabolic processes stimulation, tissues regeneration and improvement of body defenses.
Dexpanthenol is provitamin B5, which is an effective skin regeneration stimulators. It normalizes cell metabolism, strengthens collagen fibers, and provides anti-inflammatory effect. Vitamin A boosts skin immunity, softens skin. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, protecting skin cells from destruction.
Method of Application: apply 2-3 mm thick layer of No Bedsores Balm to previously cleaned and treated with antiseptics skin area once-twice a day and cover with dressing material. Term of balm application for bedsores treatment depends on the severity of the disease.
Contraindications: individual sensitivity to certain components.

Few pieces of advice to prevent bedsores
Make the bed for the patient correctly, so that there are no seams, ridges, folds and crumbs.
Change patient’s position each 2 hours, inspecting areas of possible bedsores formation. Do not allow them sitting in a chair or laying on one side uninterruptedly.
Do not drag or pull out linen from under the patient, especially if it is wet.
It is recommended to lay foam inserts under the risk areas to prevent skin pressing, including in sitting position (under the feet).
Massage skin around risk areas several times a day.
It is recommended to use anti bedsore mattress.
Change wet and dirty bedclothes at all times. If the patient suffers from urinary and fecal inconsistence it is advisable to use leak-proof towels or diapers. In case of urinary inconsistence change diapers each 4 hours, in case of fecal inconsistency change diapers immediately after defecation with further careful hygienic procedure.
Wash areas of most frequent bedsores formation with warm water and treat it with 10% salicylic alcohol or 0.5% liquid ammonia solution in the morning and in the evening.
Use moisturizing cream in case of expressed skin dryness.
Ensure daily intake of at least 1.5 l of liquid for the patient.
