Silyum marianum, being a medicinal herb, is used for liver diseases treatment for years. The main biologically active substance in milk thistle is silymarin; in addition, it contains such microelements, as zinc, cuprum, selenium, the whole range of fat-soluble vitamins, quercetin, polyunsaturated fatty acids, some amino acids, flavolignans and other components, which condition multiple use of milk thistle. Silymarin has expressed hepatoprotective effect; it restores liver cells, provides antioxidant, detoxification (neutralizing toxins and poisons) action, improves metabolic processes in liver, increasing its tolerance to adverse factors, and accelerates liver cells regeneration after its damage, toxic effects and past infectious diseases. Milk thistle is recommended in case of:
Bile ducts diseases (cholecystitis, cholangitis, dyskinesia, gallstone disease);
Liver (hepatitis, cirrhosis) and pancreas diseases;
Toxic liver damages (drugs, poisons, chemical substances, alcohol);
